About the Project

SAVITS is an acronym for System for the Assessment and Validation of Impacts in Social Technologies. It is an ongoing initiative led by the Brazilian Institute of Information in Science and Technology (IBICT), with support from Brazil’s Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation. The project aims to build an AI-powered analytical platform to support evidence-based public policy decisions and evaluate social technology investments, guided by FAIR, TRUST, CARE, and DEIA principles.

Understanding "Social Technologies" (Tecnologias Sociais)

In the context of Brazilian public policy, social technologies are products, methods, processes, or practices developed to address social challenges and improve people’s quality of life. They are typically designed with the participation of the communities and institutions involved and are intended to be accessible, adaptable, and replicable in different contexts.

Within SAVITS, these initiatives are examined through structured data and impact indicators to support their assessment, validation, and potential adoption by public institutions.

My Current Role

As the project is still in its initial development phase, my current work focuses on conducting theoretical, methodological, and technical studies to inform the development of the future SAVITS platform in accordance with best practices in accessibility, usability, and user-centred design.

My Contribution

I contribute as a researcher in accessibility and inclusion, evaluating IBICT’s existing digital services and information interfaces to identify barriers, document findings, and develop technical recommendations. This initial work helps establish evaluation criteria, protocols, and indicators that can later inform the design and validation of SAVITS.
